Evaluation and Audit
Mornington Peninsula Shire: Evaluation of the PenBus Transport Service (2013-2015)
This three year evaluation is focused on the extent to which the
provision of a bus service from Rosebud to Monash University’s Clayton Campus
and from Hastings to the Chisholm Institute Campus at Rosebud enhanced the
access to education and employment of students, apprentices and job-seekers
from Frankston and Mornington Peninsula.
Whitehorse City Council: Review of the On Call Service (2013)
This explored the nature and extent of resident need for an after- hours, On
Call service, and the economical and efficient options available for meeting
this. The consultation included interviews with Council staff and with the Home
and Community Care Managers from inner and outer municipalities in each of the
Melbourne Metropolitan Regions.
Frankston City Council: The Local Impacts of Poker Machine Gambling (2013)
This involved the exploration of the cohorts vulnerable to gambling, the
dynamics behind their gambling activities, the impact of this on their lives,
those of their family and the wider community and the identification of the
harm minimization activities possible in collaboration with local services. The
research included a literature review, a demographic analysis of the
municipality, semi- structured interviews with Council staff, those working in
Community Service Organisations and service providers including health, justice
and emergency relief; Listening Post activities at neighbourhood events and
structured phone interviews.
Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centre Southern Region: (CRCCSR) Evaluation of the Support for Older Carers Program (2011-2012)
This 13,000 word report covered the services accessed by older carers, the extent to which these met their needs, the outstanding concerns and the options for satisfying these available through the Home and Community Care programs in the ten Local Government Areas of the Southern Metropolitan Region . The methodology involved the conduct of semi-structured interviews with CRCC staff, service providers and principally clients, regarding levels of satisfaction with the current programs and suggestions for the future to guide planning.
Access Care Southern: Evaluation of the Case Management Services (2012)
This 7,000 word report covered consumer assessments of the value of the various roles provided by their case managers. The methodology included a survey of clients and/or their carers, semi-structured interviews of a representative sample of clients who have not completed surveys, and a focus group discussion for feedback and to verify findings.
Sport and Recreation Victoria, Department of Planning and Community Development:
Evaluation of the State-wide Active Places Project (2011-2012)
This 82,000 word report covered an analysis of the demographic context of a sample of Phase II project sites across the Melbourne Metropolitan Area, and regional Victoria, the validity of the objectives, the utility of the various processes used, the partnerships developed and operated, the outcomes for program participants and participating organisations, a cost benefit analysis and recommendations for Phase III. The methodology included demographic analysis, interviewing, the construct of benchmarks and of a survey instrument, focus groups from eight sample projects across Victoria.

Outer Eastern Primary Care Partnership, Victorian Government Department of Health: Evaluation of the Impact of Indigenous Cultural Respect Training model in the Outer Eastern Metropolitan Region (2010-2011)
This 18,000 word evaluation report covered the changes due to the pilot training program over a twelve month period in the knowledge and attitudes to Aboriginal clients of allied health staff in mainstream health organisations, and the changes in organisational culture,. It also covered the value of the train the Trainer Program. The role involves review of training workshops, and the methodology for the process and summative evaluations included surveys, semi-structured interviews, focus groups.

Kingston City Council: Scoping the Transport Issues in Kingston (2013)
This explored the provision of transport, the sites of transport poverty, the
cohorts affected, by age, ability, culture and disadvantage and the priority
solutions of residents. The research involved the planning with Council of face
to face consultations with Council Business Units, Council Advisory Groups and
groups of mothers with preschoolers, carers of the aged or of people with a
disability; Listening Post activities at supermarkets and bus and railway
stations, and interviews with other Councils with innovative transport
solutions to the types of challenges experienced in Kingston.

Glen Eira Analysis of Glen Eira consumer need for post secondary education (2011)
The 13,000 word report covered analysis of the stakeholders, the characteristics of likely users, the gaps between current programs and programs of interest to users, opport6unities for partnerships and collaborations, and the processes that could enhance these. The methodology included demographic analysis, a survey, semi-structured interviewing and the conduct of focus groups.
Mornington Peninsula Shire: Development of the business case and plan for the Education and Employment Access Project (2011-2012)
The 22,000 business case covered a demographic analysis of post secondary school cohorts in the metropolitan and rural contexts of Mornington Peninsula Shire, the education and employment options available to young people, the barriers to accessing these options and the business case for pilot charter bus services to address these barriers. The methodology included close collaboration with traffic engineers, TrafficWorks, and extensive interviewing of regional and local government personal, informants from relevant tertiary and secondary educational institutions and welfare organisations.

Kingston City Council: Demographic Analysis for the Southlands/Frankston/Dandenong Cycling Link Project (2011-2012)
The 19,000 word report covered a demographic analysis of the suburbs clustered around current gaps in the Priority Bicycle Routes (PBR) by age, housing tenure, workforce participation, income, occupation type and trends in journeys to work 2001-2006 and calculations of the numbers of people likely to shift their mode of transport to work to bicycle by 2016 if the gaps in the PBR were closed.
